All skin care products do the same thing, right? You can pick any one off the shelves and get the same results when you apply them right? Actually, no, this isn’t the case. Some skin care products are of high quality and live up to their promises and others are of low quality and either do nothing for your skin or irritate it and give you more skin problems than you have already.
So how can you tell the difference and what should you look for when it comes to skin care products that actually do what they promise? It’s really not that hard, if you know what to look for.
Your skin is not designed to absorb chemicals, dyes, perfumes and other additives, so its no surprise that these ingredients can cause irritation and breakouts in many. One thing to keep an eye out for when shopping for skin care products is the word hypoallergenic. This means that these products dont contain any ingredients which tend to cause allergic reactions.
You can also check out organic skin care products which are made from natural ingredients and not all those irritating chemicals.
Your skin will thank you for feeding it. What do we mean by feeding the skin? Your skin will be healthier if it is allowed to absorb vitamins and minerals. The vitamins of most use to your skin are vitamins A,C and E.
Vitamin A evens out red tones and makes your skin look more even and healthier.
Vitamin C helps to spur the collagen production in your skin, which makes it look younger fresher.
And vitamin E is a natural moisturizer. There are many skin care products today that contain these ingredients and you should look for them; they’re not that difficult to find. You can even use pure vitamin E oil in addition to your other skin care products. This helps to make your skin soft and supple and healthy looking and feeling.
There are many other things you can do to help your skin care products do their job. Use a humidifier or warm mist vaporizer especially in the winter months. This helps to keep the entire atmosphere around you warm and moist, and your skin will absorb this moisture as well. You also want to drink plenty of water for the same reason. This helps your skin to be nourished from the inside out and will help it to stay healthy and moist.
It is also a good idea to keep an eye on your diet. What you put into your body affects your skin and, if you want to keep it as wrinkle-free and healthy as possible, try to eat foods such as fruits and vegetables, since their vitamins and minerals will nourish your skin. Eating a healthy diet full of vitamins and minerals will help your skin care products to do their job too. You can’t expect your lotions and potions to perform miracles if you aren’t drinking enough water or eating a balanced diet.
But the payoff for really paying attention to the products you use and for watching your diet and drinking water is skin that is healthy and radiant, and wrinkle free.
