In the modern world, support workers who can fix PC’s and give daily advice to users are essential in all areas of the economy. As industry is becoming more and more dependent on technology, it also becomes more and more dependent on skilled and qualified IT professionals.

We recommend that our students take advice from an industry expert before settling on a particular training course, so they can be sure that the content of their learning package fits the skills of the job they’re seeking.

CompTIA A+ Computer Training covers four specialised areas - you need to pass exams in two of these areas to be considered A+ competent. Because of this, most colleges only offer two of the training options, but we think this is selling you short - sure, you can pass an exam, but experience of all four will give you a distinct advantage in industry, where you’ll need to know about all of them.

And that’s why you will need training for all four areas. You only need to take two of the exams for certification, and you can choose which other one you take alongside the Essentials exam.

CompTIA A+ Computer Training, For Your New Career…

If this is your first attempt at studying to take an IT exam you might want to cut your teeth on some user skills first. Take advice on where the right place is for you to start based on your current skill level.

As well as learning how to build and fix computers, students on the A+ training course will be taught how to work in antistatic conditions, along with fault finding and diagnostics.

You may also want to consider adding the CompTIA Network+ training as it will enable you to look after networks of computers, which is where the bigger salaries are.

People attracted to this sort of work are usually very practical, and don’t always take well to classrooms, and poring through books and manuals. If this is putting you off studying, go for more modern interactive training, where you can learn everything on-screen.

Courses are now available in disc format, where everything is taught on your PC. Through video streaming, you can watch instructors demonstrating how to do something, then you have a go yourself in an interactive lab. There are testing modules for you to check your understanding, and practice exams so the real thing isn’t scary.

It’s possible to find training packages that give students online direct access to support at all times - even in the middle of the night! Don’t accept training that only supports students with a message system out of office hours.
