A productivity formula is an individualized plan that helps you stay on task despite unexpected interruptions. The more of the interruptions you can handle as they come along prevents work pile up, resulting in higher productivity. Check out these self help tips to customize your productivity formula.

First of all you need a plan. The tasks on your daily lists should all be smaller parts of your bigger projects and goals; therefore every small task you achieve is moving you closer to the achievement of your bigger, long term goals. If upon review you find that your daily projects and your long term projects are not lined up, start over. You will not succeed until this is in sync.

Organize and prioritize. You have reviewed your goals and made sure that they are supported by your daily tasks. Prioritizing those tasks will keep you on schedule and help keep you from putting your energy and time in the wrong places.

Schedule breaks to recharge. Walk around for a few minutes. Stretch. Play a quick game of spyder. Your body and your brain will feel better and work so much better that you will make up for the lost work time, even exceed it.

Eat lunch. Again, take care of your body. Just because you are working through lunch, does not mean you are producing good quality work. Appreciate the difference and give your body the fuel it needs to recharge and get the job done.

The sense of accomplishment you feel for a job well done will motivate you to move forward and tackle more so it is important to track you achievements and recognize them even if there is no one else around to appreciate them. If you don’t, you run the risk of burnout which will only cause your productivity to drop.

Deal with the little interruptions that come along before they turn into problems. The time invested is usually minimal and it saves stress and hours in the end.

Regardless of whom you are or what you are trying to accomplish, you have to do work to get there. That work is called productivity and with a positive attitude and your productivity formula, you will succeed.
