Self image is what helps puts ideas in our mind with regard to our personality and other qualities. It is self image which we use to regard ourselves with. If you have a more positive self image then you will have more self esteem.

If you have low self image then this will affect your life quite considerable. Some people with such low self image feel completely worthless. However, by thinking about the qualities in oneself that are good one can actually boost one’s self image. It is these qualities that tend to make a person stronger and help them in changing their self image automatically.

There are a number of ways in which you can boost your self image:

1. Look at those situations which are causing you problems and affecting your self image. There may be aspects of your personality which are weak and through the effort of making changes can be dealt with.

One can change these aspects of our personality and so add a new spark to one self. Doing this will definitely helping a person to boost their self image. As weaknesses are part of our lives on a daily basis we need to know how to deal with them. If we can then we change a weak point in our personality into a stronger one instead.

2. Sometimes we have thoughts that cross our minds during certain situations or about certain people that cause us to have a low self image. It could be that you feel someone is better than you in certain parts of life, and this can lead you to feeling nervous or having self doubts.

You can try to observe what these thoughts are. For example, sometimes when we talk to ourselves these can have negative connotations which will lead to a decrease in your self image.

3. A low self image can cause physical, behavioral or emotional problems in a person. They may find that their appetite alters, they have difficulty controlling their anger or they just suffer from headaches. In order to prevent such problems one needs to avoid thinking negative thoughts regarding oneself.

Try to work out what your thought patterns are. See whether they are of a positive or negative nature or if they are logical and worthy. But you need to remember that your thoughts don’t always have to flow in the right direction.

People who tend to criticize themselves a lot are quick to develop feelings of low self image. However, if they try to feel good about themselves all the time this can help to combat the feelings. As well as you feeling the effect such positive vibes are having on you, so the people around you will feel them as well.

We are all unique and each have qualities that no one else will have. So you need to learn how not only to respect yourself but these qualities that you have, and you will be able to increase your self image quite a lot. If your self image is healthy not only will you be able to deal with certain problems but find it easier to overcome difficult situations.

A person may also develop an inferiority complex if they persistently have a low self image. This type of complex is something which should be avoided as it can affect their personality in very drastic ways. Your self-image is reflected in your personality and each of the actions that you do. So you need to remember to keep your self image intact.

As well as your self image, your beliefs can play an important role in the shaping of your life. From childhood we constantly have certain values instilled into us which help to form the beliefs we have. These beliefs sometimes reflect the thought patterns of our parents or the society in which we live.

As we grow up and become more exposed to the outside world so our beliefs may change. It is these beliefs which will help to shape our deepest wishes and thoughts. Sometimes the beliefs that are important to use may well form the basis for somebody else’s beliefs. The strongest belief we have is in the believe and trust we have in those that we love and trying to break this belief can prove very difficult indeed.

However some of the beliefs we have are contradictory to others and could lead to changes in your life that results in hurdles being placed in your way. If you want to lead a life that is happy and satisfying then you will need to make some changes to these beliefs you have. Also self belief is an important part of one’s beliefs and to develop a better self image one needs to have faith and belief in oneself.

If you decide to get rid of the old beliefs that are obstructing your path, then you need to make sure that you replace these with new ones. These new beliefs should be of the kind that you really believe in and should not be the manifestation of another person’s thoughts and beliefs.

We all have a belief system and this will impact greatly on the decisions we make and our actions. Such beliefs are very powerful and will also affect our surroundings. Many of will fight for our beliefs and tend to dislike it when others try to influence the opinions that we have.

The strong beliefs which we develop in relation to a certain issue much be done in accordance with certain values that we have. You can make your beliefs stronger or weaker by looking at how important, accurate and worthy they are to you. For those who want to alter their way of thinking to improve their life then understanding the importance of self image and beliefs is crucial.
